Name: Paul Yates
Company: I set up Just Search in 2004 and sold it four years later. I started Online Ventures earlier this year – an umbrella corporation for four Manchester-based digital businesses. Each business within the group covers a different sector. Rococo is an established PR/marketing agency that deals with everything from branding to event management; Search Innovation specialises in SEO; Via Studios is a leading multi-discipline web design and development studio; and Mobedia is a digital agency.
Turnover: The turnover of Online Ventures is £1.5m. I plan to float it on the stock market by 2013.

Worst business moment: When I returned from my honeymoon to find out that most of my 14 employees had left to set up a direct competitor. It was devastating.
Proudest business moment: My proudest moment was selling my first company Just Search for £14.8m after only three years.
