Very positive start! Following meeting with errant member of staff last week, they have totally revised attitude and come in committed, positive and smiling. Meanwhile, the person with the highest number of mistakes in their work has agreed a programme of remedial training with their line manage, so future can be attacked in positive and upbeat way. Realise that the past few weeks have been a really hard struggle and that I haven’t had many pleasant things to say to staff – but it’s important to haul myself back from this now and regroup. Want to go away – and send everyone else away – for Christmas break full of optimistic thought. Have a week of tying up loose ends and reviewing business plans with Second-in-Charge. Plan is to be positive, positive, positive.
