It’s never been harder to raise cash for new ventures. This is why Branson, billionaire and entrepreneur emeritus, has decided to give something back and help out the UK’s struggling start-ups.
He writes in his blog: "When I was starting out, I wish I could have had the chance to pitch my business ideas directly to people who could help make my ambitions a reality. We can now make that happen for you."
He’s offering entrepreneurs the chance to upload their business pitch onto the Richard Branson site. These two-minute clips will then be watched by Branson’s online community who will vote for the top five ever month. These will be then shown to "top business professionals" aboard Virgin Atlantic international flights.
"Viewers will be able to get in contact with the chosen entrepreneurs and who knows – among the viewers might be someone with the power to bring your idea to life…" says Branson.
And there’s an added bonus for one lucky entrepreneur: "Each year, I will also personally select my favourite pitch, and the winner will receive a very special prize," he says.
If you fancy pitching to the nation’s favourite entrepreneur, upload your pitch now.
