Suit inspired by Alfa Romeo Giulietta can withstand British weather

Seemingly there’s a new trend for vehicle firms to embark on curveball collaborations. On 19 June, animated group Gorillaz was drafted in to help Land Rover with recruitment, while Hawes & Curtis has now developed some concept clothing to promote the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

It may be summer, however, it’s a known fact that you never know where you stand with the British weather forecast. Just a few short days ago and the weather had crossed the 30″C mark, but at the time of writing, it’s dropped to almost half that to be topped off with showers.

That’s why Hawes & Curtis produced an all-weather suit for its concept based upon the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

Placing Italian heritage at the heart of the Britain-manufactured suit, the fabric has a water-resistant design that complements the all-weather driving conditions of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which are powered by a driving mode selector that adapts the car’s handling ability.

The suit features Italian wool, while a mesh lining is used to regulate the suit owner’s body temperature, whether the sun is beaming or rain is falling. Red stitching, honeycomb lining and bespoke sleeve prints, meanwhile, reflect the interior of the car.

And should you fancy matching his and hers attire, a women’s shirt has also been developed featuring red accents featured throughout the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

“The limited edition pieces are inspired by the Giulietta’s refined design features and performance,” said Hawes & Curtis designer Kate Regan.

Beautiful details such as the fluid lines of the car and the characteristic red highlights along the interior upholstery are echoed in the garments. I designed the items having in mind the corporate professionals who appreciate sleek design, attention to detail and impeccable quality.

Of course, this is not the first time the worlds of fashion and automotive have collided. In August last year, Aston Martin and Hackett embarked on a plan to create the epitome of style in a long-term partnership revolving around exclusive luxurious clothing?.
