Having thoroughly overdone it for years, am trying – under doctor’s orders – to rest. Thank heavens for wonderful invention of internet. Can run business from home at hours that suit.
Am therefore in deep disgrace for having overdone it but am nearing completion of complete overhaul of department plans for the year ahead. In an odd sort of way, feel more in control of the business than I have for a couple of years. In the peace and quiet of my home, I get more done in an hour than I do in a day in the office. In the meantime, sales enquiries continue at record levels – though converting them to orders is still like drawing teeth. Take comfort from people are simply taking far longer to make up their minds to buy. Wonder if it is the weather, people being more careful with their choices, or just a general end-of-winter depression”
