Jennifer Celerier and Kristina Grimes held their first Raising the Bar event at the Harrogate International Exhibition Centre. Opened by councillor John Fox – the mayor of the Borough of Harrogate – it attracted nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs from Yorkshire and the North of England for a day of speeches and advice on revitalising growth. The Apprentice stars’ event covered: branding and customer service; emarketing campaigns; and leadership. "Entrepreneurs are looking for new, inspirational ideas to help their businesses grow,” says Celerier, who worked as a sales manager in Leicester before appearing on The Apprentice. The Sunday Times number-one bestselling author Richard McCann spoke about confidence-building and dealing with adversity, while Yorkshire’s Carl Hopkins from Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire tackled brands. Gavin Ingham gave a cold-calling masterclass and Jack Black delivered his Mindstore philosophy on transforming business and personal performance. The Apprentice pair hope their events will become part of the corporate calendar for companies across the country. Will the "limpet" Kristina Grimes and her business partner Jennifer Celerier make a success of their new startup? Watch this space. Related articles:Apprentice stars turn talent spotters
