Not the most pleasant start to the day. Didn’t sleep well and got up early, content in knowledge that could steal march on heavy week by using my remote log-in to work from home. Despite the assurances from "brilliant" new computer people, system didn’t work. Arrive at work tired and bad tempered, with prospect of long meeting with insurance assessor on the not-too-jolly personal injury claim being made against us. Our paper trail stands up well and I’m reassured to hear that we are better than most companies in our production of records. Hate feeling that the employees I would once have given any amount of blood, sweat and tears for, will all stab me firmly in the back given remotest opportunity – so the meeting doesn’t exactly put me in the sunniest frame of mind.
