The people at BlackBerry assure us that the 8520 is the "ideal choice for those business professionals". Truth? Or marketing puff? Well, a shiny new BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be arriving at Real Business HQ later this week to undergo a series of strenuous tests and eye-boggling experiments. Our resident IT guru Dean Faulkner is no big fan the BlackBerry breed. The Curve 8250 will have to really pull out all the stops to convince this hater.
This is what we know so far:
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone’s features include:
· Easy mobile access to email and messaging (IM, SMS, MMS)
· Popular social networking sites (including Facebook and MySpace)
· A full-QWERTY keyboard
· Rich multimedia capabilities and access to music, games and other mobile apps for entertainment on the go
· Wi-Fi functionality to arm customers with fast Web browsing and extended data coverage.
Is this enough to threaten the might of the iPhone? So far, not so good. But will the BlackBerry Curve 8520 have a few surprises up its shiny chassis? Watch this space.
