The seven biggest cybercrimes in history

5. Sony Playstation

In 2011, over 77m Sony PlayStation user IDs and passwords had been stolen. This was later followed by another attack, where information regarding home addresses and credit card details were released online. The worst problem, however, was that the hackers were able to log on even when the company was trying to fix the breach. This lasted for 24 days.

Although the hackers still remain unnamed, it was thought to be the work of LulzSec. The estimated total damage ranged from $1bn to $2bn.
