Headquartered in Northampton, TCL employs over 400 people and has consistently grown its turnover and EBITDA since 2009, despite the recession. It is a leading provider of estate management and landscape installation, design and consultancy services to public sector and private organisations across the UK.
It operates nationwide under three different brand names: TCL Landscapes, providing landscape consultancy, design and installation; Clean Estates, providing estate management services to commercial property managers and property owners; and Admiral Play, offering design, consultancy and installation of play facilities to house builders and schools.
Its highly diversified portolio enables TCL to work on a wide scope of projects – including the Big Brother garden. Cashmore had previously said Admiral Play was “the business that saved our bacon”, helping TCL to become the largest single player in the playground design and build market, with four per cent market share.
Clients include some of the UK’s large house builders like Barratt Homes and Redrow Homes, as well as managing agents including Savills and Jones Lang LaSalle.
TCL’s success has partly come from being one of the few players to offer a bundled service to house builders – Cashmore said providing a tailored product for customers sets you up for longer-term relationships.
He has also taken efforts to ensure the fragmentation of business doesn’t mean a drop in standards across the board – travelling around TCL’s six hubs to ensure delivery is of an equally high standard at each of them.
