Kainos makes software that simplifies processes for clients in the government, financial services and healthcare sectors and is now providing digital services to five central government departments at Westminster.

With this in mind, the company is investing in major expansion, which will create 400 new jobs with an average salary in excess of 30,000. Managing director Brendan Mooney hopes this expansion will also serve to drive sales and increase annual revenue by 25 per cent year-on-year, to 94m, over the next three years. He noted that such growth would be substantially achieved through increased export sales.

Its most recent project included the company’s biggest ever order ? a 12.3m contract with the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

One example of its work enables nursing staff and clinicians to get full patient records delivered to them on an iPad. Mooney said this means it’s easier for them to focus on patient care and improves outcomes. He added that Kainos software is now used in over 100 hospitals mainly in England and that theres 100,000 taking advantage of it.

The business also works with large volume government transactions , including developing the technology to connect 22,000 garages and 77,000 mechanics with customers in Britain for 35m MoTs.

Mooney suggested that continued growth across all target sectors, driven by a very strong portfolio of products and services, is expected.
