Set ourselves a hugely ambitious schedule as always: left hand of the two is off jaunting round South of France in a couple of weeks (so no sympathy for him, really) and we have so much to achieve prior to then.
One of four line managers failed to make grade and has been demoted, leaving one department in total chaos, both staff-structure wise and literally and left hand needs to get to grips with this little problem. I should be putting in serious groundwork market research towards our new designs for next January and instead am getting badly sidetracked. Right hand and myself both struggling in our respective offices from staff who have trouble with accountability. We put this in as one of our new company values earlier in year and it has been a real deal breaker in various departments.
In this particular case, we are both struggling with two females who initially got very angry when found to be in error and then burst into copious sobs. While we are all learning not to give into natural inclination to dole out tissues and sympathy, it has become plain extremely boring and extremely draining.
