Thunderhead founder Glen Manchester, who is a contender for Entrepreneur of the Year at the upcoming Growing Business Awards, expanded into the US early in the firm’s development. Manchester says this international focus has contributed to the company’s spectacular growth: during the past five years, Thunderhead has grown at a rate of 28,558 per cent, making it the fastest growing company in the 2008 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Manchester always believed that international expansion would be crucial to the long-term prospects of the enterprise communications software firm. He says: “We’ve been quite aggressive in going into the US market where British firms probably haven’t been.
