1 Mins

Feeling very cross that because of the two staff up on disciplinary hearings, a clash of two other staff on holiday and a few other underperforming ones, I’m up to my ears in work, thoroughly knackered and there was absolutely no way I was going to make Entrepreneurs’ Summit today unless I worked through the night. Grrrr!

A couple of cases of sulks from those who have been told of errors does nothing to improve my humour. Sit in car having illicit cigarette and contemplate a world of post recession where we can raise our prices, raise our wages and therefore raise the expected performance of staff. Wonder if it would work? No way of finding that out at moment as orders are hard enough to come by. I’ve finally come to a decision about line-managers, who are both still in trial period, and currently subject to disciplinary action. The one who was straightforward and honest about their errors has had a light written warning. The other, who was less so and, in any case, already in trouble over other issues, stepped down to a junior position by mutual agreement. Not a clear idea as to how we are going to manage but have no qualms that it was right thing to do.
