Have finally completed touring round all my employees, getting feedback on the restructuring. The good news is that we have definitely had little wins (my business coach’s terminology for those unlikely little victories we have from time to time). The clearly defined lines of communication and hierarchy are being commented on universally by all departments as making life easier, work more productive and lowering stress. Yeah!! Time is also producing clearer pictures of our four newly appointed line managers, which are fascinating if not 100 per cent satisfactory. One line manager is steaming ahead – grasping every aspect, taking control and being innovative, and we are all brainstorming on something small by way of a reward to recognise these huge leaps. One simply inspires extraordinary loyalty from his staff and in turn provides management with exceptional loyalty. Some of my female staff once remarked that he made them feel all warm and fuzzy. Jury still very much out on the other two, though. One clearly cannot cope and needs almost immediate tackling whereas the other is defiantly convinced of his brilliance (sadly the only believer at present).
