Not over Majid’s offensive although simply boring comments, but more to object over the choice of the women. Where on earth did they find them? This is so not the face of women in business – merely a group of arrogant, offensive, ignorant people, more suited to Big Brother! In fairness, everyone seems to have strange misconceptions about women who run businesses. Meeting the wives of my first two employees years ago, both stared at me for a long while before one exclaimed: “But you are so small!” Out at an awards do recently, someone asked to meet me and was equally surprised – apparently in his book, female entrepreneurs are not usually blonde, giggling hysterically, slightly drunk and with their shoes kicked off. Mostly we are quite normal! Must stop now, though, and decide between sacking some of my 15:1 male/female staff or enjoying slapping my whip around a few times… Oh, and while I have enjoyed The Apprentice, am still mopping up my tears over the end of Mistresses.
