Day starts with an hour’s telephone session with business coach post his/our summer break. We’re about to activate a massive training programme for the next few weeks to finally make sure staff can do their jobs properly. Now it’s a case of sitting back, watching and waiting to evaluate what happens. Feels almost strange to have stuck to a business plan so exactly and to be able to see things happening as planned! Quite a novel experience. In the past I have planned these things but been unable to fully follow through due to a combination of fire fighting and lack of management support. Now, with my second-in-command raging to progress and signs of at least some of my line managers being open to learning more, we seem to be storming through. Proof will be in the pudding, as they say.
