They say never look a gift horse in the mouth, but Thrift founder Biggs "wants no part" of the money he received from Secret Millionaire Rob Calcraft. The show aired on Sunday on Channel 4, then again on Monday, but far from being elated at the publicity his charity has received as a result, Biggs is furious about the way the show edited footage to make his home town look like a dump. "I was just disgusted at how they portrayed the town," he told the Daily Mail. "I told them if they were going to pull Barrow down we wanted no part of it." Calcraft, one of the founders of REN Skincare, posed as a volunteer at the local thrift shop, which raises money for disability groups in the area. The entrepreneur, who’s worth in the region of £8m, revealed his true self at the close of the show and pledged his money. But things only went downhill from there for shop manager, Biggs. "They ripped Barrow and Barrow Island to bits," he says. "I have a shop on the island and it is a lovely community that didn’t deserve this. "The trustees of the Thrift Charitable Trust have decided to disassociate themselves with all involved with the production of the programme," he continues. "I love my town to bits and am totally disgraced at the negativity of the programme towards Barrow and its lovely people. I want to give all the money away because it feels dirty, like blood money."
