According to managing director Robert Freeman, the fire may have taken its toll, but the business recovered swiftly. “That specific business is now one of the top three in the chain, along with the ones based in Droitwich and Hereford,? he said. ?We rebuilt the trade quickly after the fire and we never really lost any customers.” Indeed, the Malvern Tyres Group has been heralded as one of the UK’s largest independent tyre and auto repair specialists. Emphasising the word independent, the Malvern bosses are adamant that everything is all done in-house. Established over 35 years ago, the group remains privately owned and has expanded to include more than 50 branches located throughout the Midlands, South-West England, South Wales andScotland. These regions are served by group-owned Malvern Tyres, Discount Tyres, King David Tyres, AutoTyre & Battery Co, and County Tyre. Arguably, 2014 proved to be a busy year for the firm, and its activities are evidently impacting the business this year. Two of its subsidiaries had been acquired during that time. It also expanded the group with 13 new branches and the two new brands, Discount Tyre & County Tyre, have seen Malvern Tyres grow exponentially. The company has suggested that it is quickly establishing itself as a leading online tyre retailer, with over 40 branches offering fully fitted tyres available to order online.
