It’s been a quiet summer for deals, but a big one’s just come out of Nottingham. Clinphone, which provides technology to speed the clinical trials process, has been acquired to become part of Parexel’s technology subsidiary Perceptive Informatics.
Real Business has long been an admirer of Clinphone, naming it "Company of the Year" at the 2002 Growing Business Awards. The company has also long been an innovator in staff engagement and motivation, once awarded “champion” status by Investors in People and with staff turnover less than five per cent. It also redesigned its workplace with a “staff marketplace”. We imagine the marketplace will be buzzing this week.
You may remember Parexel for somewhat different reasons. In 2006, a Parexel-run drug trial led to multiple organ failure in six volunteers at Northwick Park Hospital in London.
