The details
Intamarque is a fast-growing distributor of fast moving consumer goods, which sells in more than 30 countries from its base in Cheltenham. A fleet of 46 vehicles, ranging from mid-sized vans to articulated lorries, deliver goods within three days of orders being logged and ship more than 50,000 cases of product every week.
Stephen Shortt, who founded the business with his brother Richard, says the firm is focused on the customer and keeps standards high with investment in good employees, reliable IT systems, cost-effective marketing and a good website: ?Our headcount is still relatively small at 15 people, because we outsource areas like logistics, which we are not experts in. It’s the same business model as when we started, there are just more customers now and they are staying loyal.
Future plans to build on Intamarque’s £29.7m turnover include getting involved in more trade exhibitions, ramping up sales through a redesigned website and developing relations with existing clients and suppliers, says Shortt.
